Haiti Mission Trip 2012

Haiti Team 2012

On March 25th 2012, we will be departing to Port-au-Prince, Haiti for 6 days. The island nation of Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest in the world. Eighty percent of Haitians live in absolute poverty (earning less than $1 per day) and have no access to clean water. When the 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the country on January 12, 2010, conditions were only made worse. An estimated 3 million people were affected and 280,000 buildings were completely collapsed or severely damaged.

The purpose of this mission trip is to provide assistance to local communities and to help with the groundwork and preparation for the Luis Palau Fun in the Sun Festival. While in Haiti we will be working with the Luis Palau eyeglass clinic to bring much needed eye care to rural communities, as well as holding VBS activities for local orphanages and churches. This work will be followed by the Luis Palau Festival, which will serve as a time of celebration and proclamation. The local community is invited to bring their unbelieving friends, giving them the opportunity to respond to the Good News and offering hope to individuals who are still in great need both physically and psychologically.

The trip is being funded entirely through donations and by those going on the mission trip. We are excited about the upcoming opportunities to serve and minister to the people of Haiti, and we ask you to join us in our ministry. We seek your support and prayer for this mission trip. If you are able to financially assist with this trip, we ask that you would use our new PayPal account to do so. A receipt will be sent from RUF to all individuals who offer donations in order to make these gifts tax-deductible.

We thank you in advance for your prayers and your financial support. May God bless you richly!
