RUF Community Team

The Bible tells us that true Christian community is ultimately a fruit of the work of the Gospel in our lives.  It is not something we can simply summon up or create ourselves; but as the Gospel of Grace is applied to our hearts and lives, it will inevitably produce authentic Christian community. 

Therefore, this team serves not to create community, but to promote and provide opportunities for RUF students who are growing in the gospel to express love to one another and to non-Christians around us.

The activities of this team are broad and include- announcing and celebrating birthdays, planning low-key fun activities, creating and promoting relationship-building activities in the fellowship, etc.  There are also several committees that help to fulfill part of its work:

• Servant Team- this is a group of RUF students who desire to serve behind-the-scenes by taking care of various details necessary to make ministry events happen.  These might include: buying food (and being reimbursed by RUF!), putting up decorations, carrying equipment, organizing rides/details, etc. 
• Welcome Committee- this is a group of volunteers focused upon promoting community at our large group Gathering through such activities as: providing nametags, announcing birthdays, organizing mixer events, helping with set up, encouraging visitors and attenders to sign up for the directory, etc.
• Love in Action Committee- this is a group of student volunteers who have a heart for promoting and providing opportunities for RUF students to be involved in ministries of mercy to the greater Providence community.
• Prayer Coordinator- This student volunteer works to encourage student participation in our various prayer ministries and to facilitate the sharing of prayer requests throughout the fellowship by appropriate channels.
